“Segen Gottes” Silver Mine near Haslach

The old silver mine “Segen Gottes" (God’s blessing) is one of the most important historic mines in the Black Forest. It is also mentioned in the “Badenlied”, a song dedicated to the region. The mine has seen roughly 800 years of mining.

On three floors in the mine silver, heavy spar and fluor spar veins come to light. Crystallised deposits, stalagmites, stalactites and sinter, not to be seen in any other mine in the region, are all here for you to admire. You also get to see tunnels dug out using mallets and iron chisels, which are still in a perfect condition, as well as historic door jambs.

Opening hours:

1st April to 1st November everyday except Monday three guided tours at 11.00 a.m., 1.30 p.m. and 3.30 p.m.

Groups: a booking has to be made to ensure that a guide is available. During the winter groups (minimum charge 20.00 Euros) on request.

• Admission fee charged

In the “Schnellinger Silberstube” next to the lake (50 metres from the mine) you will not only find a place to change your clothes but also a small information centre.

When the mine is open our team will also serve you coffee, cake and light refreshments.
