Churches / Chapels in Schramberg
St. Maria in Schramberg is one of the most important churches of its time in southern Germany and was built between 1838 and 1844. The church with three naves and its large barrel vault is, together with the way the chancel was designed by Professor Erich Hauser in 1994, a good example of how to combine architecture and art from two completely different periods. Listen to famous musicians playing the organ built by Eberhard Friedrich Walckner during the Schramberg organ concerts. Please note that church services could be taking place during your visit. The “Falkenstein” chapel has the finest “Mourning for Christ” in southern Germany (1520).
